Instructions
- Take the Roller Bearings (ROLL-625ZZ) to a well-ventilated area. Spray WD-40 into the grooves between the bearing housing and cover, and work the bearing to loosen it.
- Repeat previous step until bearing spins freely.
- Wipe all lubricant off of the outside of the bearing using a rag.
- Locate the two cylindrical posts on the strut that will hold the roller bearings.
- Fit the center of the a roller bearing over one of the posts, and push down gently and firmly, taking care not to snap the post.
- Repeat prior two steps for the other roller bearing and post.
Tips and Notes
- Ivory-towered engineers may disapprove of the use of WD-40 to loosen the packed lubricant in the bearing. It does reduce the load that can be borne by the bearing, but we care little for that in this case. We do care that the bearing spins freely.
